About me

As the owner of It's All Fun and Paints, I'm Shannon, and I'm thrilled to bring my passion for art to Smithers and the surrounding area!

I believe that my background makes me the ideal host for your next event as art has been my journey for as long as I can remember. I hold an Advanced Certificate in Fine Arts from Sheridan College in Oakville, ON, an Honors Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art and Fine Art History from the University of Toronto in Toronto, ON, as well as a Bachelor of Education from Trent University in Peterborough, ON.

In 2014, I made the move from Kawartha Lakes, Ontario, to Smithers, BC, where I quickly became a part of the vibrant arts community in town.

As I put down roots in this beautiful town, I have worn many hats and have a habit for taking on diverse roles. In the past, I served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Smithers Art Gallery, held the position of Co-Chair for the Library-Gallery Project Fundraising Committee, and took charge as the Art Coordinator for the Midsummer Music Festival (as well as designing the programs for the 2023 year). Additional, I proudly served as the Aboriginal Education Contact for the Bulkley Valley Teachers Union. While I have shifted my focus to a full-time pursuit of the arts, I continue to contribute to education as a Presenter and as a Teacher on Call for School District 54. Beyond my professional endeavors, I find immense joy in spending quality time with my husband and daughter, enriching my life with cherished moments.
